“She Keeps Me Warm” by Mary Lambert

She Keeps Me Warm
(Mary Lambert)

She says I smell like safety and home
I named both of her eyes “Forever” and “Please don’t go”
I could be a morning sunrise all the time, all the time yeah
This could be good, this could be good

And I can’t change, even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
And I can’t change, even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
My love, my love, my love, my love
She keeps me warm, she keeps me warm

What’s your middle name?
Do you hate your job?
Do you fall in love too easily?
What’s your favorite word?
You like kissing girls?
Can I call you baby?
Yeah, yeah

She says that people stare ‘cuz we look so good together
Yeah, yeah, yeah

And I can’t change, even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
And I can’t change, even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
My love, my love, my love, my love
She keeps me warm, she keeps me warm [x2]

I’m not crying on Sundays, I’m not crying on Sundays [x2]
Love is patient, love is kind [x4]
My love, my love, my love, my love
She keeps me warm, she keeps me warm

“We Are The People” – Empire of the Sun and Pryda

This is one of my favourite songs. There are two songs in this one:
1. “We Are The People” by Empire of the Sun
2. “Mirage” by Pryda

You can search on youtube.com for each song if you’re curious, because really, there’s no cure for curiosity. Or, it could simply be because you don’t really have a life. There’s no shame in admitting that. Why do you think I have so many blogs?

Anyway, the song is dedicated to all everyone who identifies themselves as LGBT. Remember, we are the people who rule the world. There’s at least  10% of us on this planet. That’s a huge number in 7 billion. We are everywhere. ONE in every TEN. Chances are, your teachers, politicians, friends and the stranger who sat next to you in the bus are LGBT too; it’s just that they’ve never really declared it.

We share in each other the same battle for recognition, to be able to choose our own partner, to be able to love and show that love freely without guilt or repercussion, to be able marry and build a family, and simply to be ourselves without people praying for us and trying to change us.

Go and live an adventure, fall in love in the Summer, follow the sun till night, reminisce your life and get lost in the universe.

There is a force running in every boy and girl; all rejoicing in the world. It runs in us too.

Can’t you be believing now? There’s no use fighting us. We’re not going anywhere.

“We Are The People”
Empire of the Sun & Pryda

We can remember swimming in December
Heading for the city lights in 1975
We share in each other
Nearer than farther
The scent of a lemon drips from your eyes

We are the people that rule the world
A force running in every boy and girl
All rejoicing in the world
Take me now, we can try

We lived an adventure
Love in the Summer
Followed the sun till night
Reminiscing other times of life
For each every other
The feeling was stronger
The shock hit eleven, got lost in your eyes

I can’t do well when I think you’re gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can’t you be believing now?

Can you remember and humanise?
It was still where we’d energised
Lie in the sand and visualise
Like it’s ’75 again

We are the people that rule the world
A force running in every boy and girl
All rejoicing in the world
Take me now, we can try

I can’t do well when I think you’re gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can’t you be believing now?

I know everything about you
You know everything about me
We know everything about us

I can’t do well when I think you’re gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can’t you be believing now?
